What to do
- Call your lender's hardship team. Their details are on your statement and the lender's website. Ask about pausing or reducing repayments, extending your loan term, or another arrangement that fits what's happening.
- Talk to us. We can't change your loan's terms, but we can help you understand your options and get your information together. If refinancing would help, we'll say so, and if it wouldn't, we'll tell you that too. Call 0458 872 992 or email admin@cinch.loans.
- Talk to a financial counsellor. The National Debt Helpline offers financial counselling at no cost on 1800 007 007 or at ndh.org.au. Moneysmart also has practical guides at moneysmart.gov.au.
- If the lender's answer doesn't seem fair. Complain to the lender first. If that doesn't resolve it, you can go to AFCA on 1800 931 678 or at afca.org.au.
A hardship arrangement may be noted on your credit report, so ask your lender how it will be reported.
We treat anything you tell us about hardship, your health or your circumstances as sensitive, and handle it as our Privacy Policy describes.
